On January 25th, 2012 at approximately 7:10p.m., medics from St. Joseph Hospital were dispatched to the 300 block of East Mulberry Street in reference to a male that was lying on the side of the street.  Medics arrived and found the victim, later identified as 64 year-old David Gibson of Kokomo, to be unconscious.  Medics discovered Gibson had a small wound to his forehead.  Medics transported Gibson to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment for a possible fall.

During Gibson’s examination at the hospital, doctors found that Gibson had sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead.  Gibson was transported to St. Vincent Hospital where his condition is extremely critical. Investigators interviewed witnesses who advised that they heard a gunshot at approximately 7pm.

This case remains active for investigation.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Chad Rodgers @ (765) 456-7350, the Kokomo Police Department Hotline at (765) 456-7017 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.  You may qualify for a cash reward from Central Indiana Crime Stoppers.
