On January 24, 2012, Kokomo Police Department K-9 Officers Chad VanCamp and Brian Hunt, along with patrol Officer Drew Walsmith, went to 1224 South Waugh Street to attempt to locate an individual wanted on warrants who was possibly at that location. When the officers arrived at the residence, they made contact with Brice A. Peters, age 32, who resided at the location. Officers detected a strong chemical odor commonly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine coming from the residence. Officers secured the residence and obtained a Search Warrant.  Drug Task Force investigators responded to process the suspected methamphetamine lab.

Subsequent investigation resulted in officers recovering methamphetamine, controlled substances, and pills.

The following subject was arrested:

Brice A. Peters, age 32, of that address for Attempted Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a class B felony, Possession of  Methamphetamine, a class D felony, Illegal Drug Lab,  a class D felony, Possession of a Syringe, a class D felony, and Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances, a class D felony.

The suspect was transported to the Howard County Criminal Justice Center with no injuries reported. The Drug Task Force would like to thank the citizens of Kokomo for tips and information on drug activity. Anyone with additional information regarding these investigations is asked to contact the Kokomo Police Department Hotline at (765) 456-7017.

All Defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
